For instance, I use opensubtitles service as default service and once i start streaming a movie, I click on download subs and in a matter of seconds they are there. I did not need to visit websites etc. This is valid for watching streaming movies or TV shows, but it might be a little difficult if you first downloaded a movie and later trying to play it with the subtitles as XBMC might not recognize the title of the movie and consequently the right subs could not be downloaded. In my BS Player Free (latest) version I have 'Preferences-Subtitles-Subtitles text size and color', there you have a slide bar where you can change the font size (just checked again on my phone, I'm not at home now). It sounds like you have an older version of BS Player. I don't know from where BS Player is fetching the subtitles (haven't seen in settings an option to add a link to a site), but if you are happy with it, use it, rather than XBMC/Kodi. When it comes to XBMC/Kodi, be aware that, like I said above, if you are watching an online movie, it's name is not always a friendly user one, I saw several times movie names like '13412341.mkv' or similar, so you have to do a manual search for the movie name. Now what subtitle search engine to use for your language (I understand croatian), that's difficult to suggest you, I can only say that I'm using opensubtitles.org, which finds most of the times the proper subtitle for my language.
